A Woodpecker Story

"A bird’s nesting is always a cause for celebration.  In this case, as it takes place in the taman is especially reason for cheer and optimism..."

A six-part series on the nesting of a pair of crimson-winged woodpeckers at Taman Rimba Kiara by Roselyn Chuah.

Birds of Taman Rimba Kiara

An amazing diversity of birds can be found at Taman Rimba Kiara - many of which are protected. The park is frequented by casual bird watchers on a regular basis and also used by birding groups who organise bird walks to share knowledge of and observe the variety of birds. My Garden Birdwatch (MYGB) drew up a list of birds that have been observed at the park - it's an amazing list of 54 varieties! How many have you seen?

Enjoying the birds at TRK

My Garden Birdwatch (MYGB) organised another bird walk at Taman Rimba Kiara on 20th May 2018. Participants were able to enjoy a bit of birdwatching and identifying some of the birds that frequent the park. This is also part of MYGB's introduction to garden birds leading up to the MYGB survey.
